Membership is a stake in what the Centre works on next

Members fund the research, reach the capped rooms first, and elect four of the eight seats on the board. There is no payment at application, and we are looking for fit with the purpose rather than a recognisable employer.

Participation options

Four memberships, shaped around how you would actually take part

The differences are about participation rather than status. Nobody gets a better version of the research because they paid more.

Practitioner

Individual marketers · Annual, individual

For the person doing the work who wants a room of peers solving the same problems, and a place to check their thinking before they commit to it.

  • Member rate on every course, workshop and intensive
  • The monthly practitioner briefing, written rather than curated
  • Access to member roundtables under Chatham House rule
  • The full library of frameworks, policy templates and evaluation sets
  • A vote in the annual election of practitioner seats on the board

Organisation

In-house teams and agencies · Annual, up to fifteen named people

For a marketing function or agency taking this on as a team, where the point is that everyone reaches the same standard rather than one person going on a course.

  • Everything in Practitioner, for up to fifteen named people
  • One private team session each year, scoped to a problem you are facing
  • Priority access to capped cohorts and invitation roundtables
  • A policy review: we read your draft AI policy and mark it up honestly
  • Named listing in the Centre’s member directory
Apply as Organisation

Academic and Student

Researchers, educators and students · Annual, concessional

For people teaching and studying this rather than selling it, at a rate that reflects that. The Centre needs the research connection as much as the field does.

  • Full member access at a concessional rate
  • An open invitation to present work in progress at member roundtables
  • Support with industry access for research with practical application
  • Teaching material available for use in your own courses, with attribution

Partner

Organisations funding the work · By agreement, reviewed annually

For organisations that want to underwrite the Centre’s public programs. Partners fund access and research. They do not get a platform, an endorsement or a say in what we publish.

  • Underwriting of named public programs, including the Open Seats initiative
  • Acknowledgement of support, clearly separated from any editorial content
  • Participation in the annual industry consultation
  • Everything in Organisation membership for your marketing team

What membership gives you

Six things worth having

Written as what you get rather than what we offer, because those are usually different lists.

  • Peers who will disagree with you

Roundtables are capped and run under Chatham House rule, so people say what they actually think about a tool, a vendor or a decision that did not work.

  • Independence you can rely on

No vendor pays for a speaking slot, a recommendation or a favourable word. When the Centre says something works, that assessment is not for sale.

  • Material you can use on Monday

Policy templates, voice specifications, evaluation sets and vendor question lists, written to be adapted rather than admired.

  • A standard to hold work against

Shared frameworks mean two members in different organisations can compare notes and be talking about the same thing.

  • Education at member rates

Every course, workshop and intensive is discounted for members, and members reach capped cohorts before general registration opens.

  • A say in the direction

Practitioner seats on the board are elected by members, and the annual consultation sets what the Centre works on next.

How applying works

Three steps, no sales call

You will not be phoned, put into a nurture sequence or asked to sit through a demonstration.

  1. Send the form

Tell us who you are, what you work on and what you want from the Centre. It takes a few minutes and there is no fee at this stage.

  2. We review monthly

Applications are reviewed at the start of each month. We are looking for fit with the Centre’s purpose, not for seniority or a recognisable employer.

  3. Confirmation and onboarding

You receive confirmation by email with your membership terms, the invitation to the next roundtable, and access to the full library.

Application

Apply for membership

A few minutes to complete. Applications are reviewed at the start of each month and you will hear back by email either way.

Concessional rates apply for academics, students, not-for-profit marketers and practitioners between roles. Say so in the last field and it will be applied without further questions.

What you want to work onoptional, choose any

A few sentences is plenty. We are interested in the problem you are working on, not your credentials.
