Independent. Practitioner led. Australian.

Marketing is being rebuilt around artificial intelligence. Australian practitioners deserve a straight account of it.

To support Australian marketers through the shift to artificial intelligence with independent research, practical education and a standard of responsible practice the industry sets for itself.

The Centre grew out of a question that kept coming back in AIR Consulting client work: not which tool to buy, but how a marketing team is supposed to know whether any of it is working. Read how it started

What we do

Four kinds of work, one purpose

The Centre exists to make good practice reachable: to research it honestly, teach it plainly, hold a standard for it, and put the people doing it in the same room.

Independent research

We publish frameworks, evaluations and positions on the questions Australian marketers are actually facing, without a vendor holding the pen.

Practical education

Four teaching tracks that take a team from shared vocabulary to a working production system and a signed governance policy.

See the programs

Responsible practice

A written standard covering disclosure, consent, personalisation limits and synthetic likeness, that we hold ourselves to first.

Our position

A room of peers

Capped roundtables under Chatham House rule, where practitioners say what actually happened rather than what presents well.

Why it matters

The gap is not enthusiasm. It is judgement.

There is no shortage of excitement about what these systems can do. What Australian marketing teams are short of is a reliable way to decide what to do about it.

  1. The advice is written by sellers

Most of the material a marketing leader can reach is produced by a company with a licence to sell. It is not necessarily wrong, but it is not neutral, and there is rarely anywhere else to check it.

  2. The mandate arrives before the capability

Teams are handed an expectation and a deadline without the time or the skills to evaluate what they are being asked to adopt. The gap gets filled with whatever was demonstrated most convincingly.

  3. The standards are being set elsewhere

Expectations around disclosure, consent and synthetic likeness are hardening. If the marketing profession does not set a standard it can defend, one will be set for it by people who do not do this work.

The Marketing Team Is Now a Systems Team

Artificial intelligence moves marketing away from producing individual assets and towards designing, supervising and correcting the systems that produce them at volume.

Brand Voice at Machine Scale

When output volume rises sharply, a brand voice held in the heads of three senior people stops being a standard and becomes a bottleneck.

Where we stand

No vendor has ever paid this Centre for a speaking slot, a recommendation or a favourable word. That is the whole proposition.

It closes revenue lines that are open to almost everyone else publishing in this category, and it is the reason a practitioner can take what we say into a board meeting. Partners can underwrite public access programs. They cannot buy a platform, an endorsement, or a say in what we publish.
